Sleeping with Uncertainty Webinars

Why a ‘Sleep Webinar’ now?

Sleep is an incredibly powerful resource when dealing with crises. It strengthens our immune system, restores energy levels and helps us think innovatively about our ever-changing circumstances.

Before COVID-19, at least 4 in 10 workers were routinely getting fewer than the 7 recommended hours of sleep, and 1 in 10 were suffering from chronic insomnia. Covid-19 will have compounded these statistics by:

  • hugely increasing the levels of stress and anxiety we are all under;
  • forcing changes to our daily routine and working environments; and
  • reducing our levels of physical activity.

These 2 workshops enable you (and your families) to improve your sleep so you can function at your very best over the testing months ahead.

Why a ‘Sleep Webinar’ now?

The good news is that the solutions to most common sleep issues are simple, evidence-based and effective. These webinars use tools and techniques from ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia’, adapted to make them user-friendly, relevant and accessible for all.  Each 45-60 minute webinar can be delivered as a standalone session but, they are also designed to complement each other as a series of 2, with a gap of 1-3 weeks.

Webinar 1: Working from home – optimal sleep routine for your

Seize this opportunity! If you’ve ditched your daily commute, this is your chance to take control of your sleep-wake routine and bring more energy and productivity to your day. Find out how fatigue and mental performance are influenced by your body-clock and how to avoid common home-working hurdles to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

What we cover:

  • How sleep loss affects your performance and why this is even more important when you work remotely
  • Your unique ‘sleep need’ and how to know whether you are getting enough sleep
  • Sleep as a biological drive, and how to influence the two main systems that control when we sleep
  • How to go from night owl to early bird and the difference this will make to your productivity and mood during the day
  • How to create the optimum sleep routine for you and your family

Webinar 2: Sleeping with Uncertainty

Racing mind? Worrying about work, home, the family? You’re not alone. But worry doesn’t have to keep you up at night. Sleep and our emotions are intimately linked.  In this session, we unpick the vicious cycle of stress and sleep-loss, and how to avoid progression into insomnia.

What we cover:

  • How the brain responds to sleep loss and how this alters our physical, emotional and behavioural responses to uncertainty
  • What happens to the brain when we sleep
  • Why common coping strategies don’t always work in times of stress/uncertainty and can sometimes snowball into insomnia
  • Three winning techniques for falling asleep and getting back to sleep that you can start to practice tonight
  • The most powerful behavioural technique for restoring broken sleep

Who are these for?

Anyone with any type of sleep issue. Whether you have the occasional poor night of sleep, or you routinely have difficulty falling asleep, waking up in the early hours, or simply waking up unrefreshed. These workshops will give you the tools you need to take control of your sleep and ensure you wake up fully refreshed to meet the challenges of the day.

The run time for both sessions are between 45-60 minutes
