Dr Alexander Vale (BMedSci, BMBS, MRCPsych) is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist, with a specialist endorsement in Addiction Psychiatry. He completed his medical science and medical degrees at The University of Nottingham, graduating in 2013, and became a member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2019. He currently leads a mental health inpatient ward in North London, but has worked in a variety of settings.

He is also soon to complete a Masters Degree in Medical Leadership at City St George’s University.

His experience encompasses a range of adult mental disorders, including major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, bipolar affective disorder, psychotic disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and substance use disorders.

He adopts a holistic, patient centred approach, placing a premium on rapport with patients and colleagues as the heart of any interaction. At university, he was recognised with an award for academic attainment in difficult circumstances, and has a deep empathy for those that need support toward achieving their goals and recovery.

Outside of work, he appreciates most sports, with a particular interest in Aston Villa and the New York Jets. He likes to remain active, but recognises that his own football career peaked in late 90’s.
